Vegas was more fun than I could have imagined. You never know what or WHO you'll
see while there. On my first day while in Caesar's Palace shopping (the shopping
is unmatched in Vegas by the way.. I was pleasantly surprised and spent way too
much money) I met another munchkin from the Wizard of Oz and received an
autographed picture from him then turned the next corner only to find
Pete Rose . He has always been one of my oldest brother Brian's favorite baseball
players so I bought a picture and had Mr. Rose sign it to him for his 40th
birthday present. He wrote "Brian Happy 40th! Pete Rose "Hit King". Oh by the
way if you ever run into Pete Rose keep in mind he is a DIRTY old man! :o)
We stayed at Bally's which is a very nice hotel and casino but spent very little
time there. I'm not a huge gambler but I
did
hit the slots just about every night. It was fun but I cannot stand the thought
of losing money so I did not lose nor win big. I guess rubbing the toes of the
statues at the Hoover Dam wouldn't have helped me anyway. They say they have
brought thousands of others unbelievable fortune but I wonder how many more lost
everything they owned even though they gave them a rub. Just a thought.
The Bellagio was directly across the street from us so we were there almost
every night to watch the fountains and listen
to the music. It was amazing! I was just as excited to see it the 6th time as I
was the first. It's a must see when you're in Vegas. Plus, the Bellagio itself
has so much to offer. It's very posh and ornamental and just lovely. The
fountains and gardens on the inside have just as much to offer as the one on the
outside.
While
there I met up with my brother Scott and his wife Ginger. We took in Freemont
St., the Grand Canyon,
Hoover Dam (we rented a car and drove up to the North Rim one day then to the
Hoover Dam the next), The
Amazing Jonathan show (this was hilarious, he's a
magician/comic with his own style and flare. He signed the Betty Boop doll that
Scott had won for me just before the show), The Blues Brother Review, and of
course the Las Vegas strip. |
